Description
The so-called Lost Maples of central Texas are Acer grandidentatum, or bigtooth maples. People come from all around an area not known for its fall foliage to see the leaves of these trees turn yellow, orange, and red.

Beautiful!
Steven Schwartzman replied:
This is a place that's more colorful in the fall than most of the rest of Texas.

Makes me miss the Maple trees of my youth
Steven Schwartzman replied:
I miss the maples of my youth too, when I grew up in New York. In Texas I had to travel to this oasis of maples 160 miles west of Austin to see the sight shown here. It was worth the trip.
