Description
The dayflower (Commelina erect) has a little boat-like structure called a spathe that fills with clear liquid. Slight pressure from opposite sides causes drops of that liquid to come out through the tip of the spathe. One of those drops, pictured here, was beginning to separate from the spathe. In so doing, it acted like a lens and showed an upside-down view of the trees in the distance.
