Sand Dunes and Dark Clouds

I was definitely excited to get to play (photographically) on this sand dune last year.

I got there late in the day, so other people's footprints were in various places across the dunes. I hunted around until I found untouched places where I could photograph the dunes in their pristine condition, which contributed to the feeling of emptiness you describe. Thanks for your appreciation.

At first I was sorry to have an overcast day, but then I realized that the dark clouds would be a good complement to the lighter dunes.
