Description
Like so many other Americans, I grew up with dandelions in our yard. Only much later did I learn that those are alien invasives from Eurasia. In contrast, Texas has a native dandelion, Pyrrhopappus pauciflorus, a sunny flower head of which you see here from above. I like the shadows and intimations of things barely visible on the ground beneath the Texas dandelion flower head.

I like the contrast of the dark surrounding the flower but also the fact that some faint details of the ground below show through.
